Je höher die Last, desto sorgfältiger muss ein Regal ausgesucht werden. Besonders Bücherregale bzw. CD- / DVD-Aufbewahrungen weisen vollgefüllt ein hohes Gewicht auf: Der Hersteller der jeweiligen Wandregale hat in der Konstruktion diese Volllast berücksichtigt. Was jedoch der Hersteller nicht wissen kann, ist die Stabilität der vorhandenen Wände. Zwar ist jedem Wandboard ein Befestigungsset beigelegt, jedoch nur für »normale« Beton-Wände. Falls ein Wandregal an einer porösen Altbau-Wand befestigt werden soll, müssen zusätzlich spezielle Dübel im nahegelegenen Baumarkt oder Fachhandel eigenhändig erworben werden.
